Concordia Nebraska to host Project Pumpkin event on October 27th
Seward, NE (10/17/2024) — Concordia Nebraska looks forward to hosting its annual Project Pumpkin event on Sunday, October 27 between 3 and 5 p.m. in David Hall.
Project Pumpkin is a years-old tradition at Concordia and involves young children and families from the Seward area trick-or-treating throughout the halls of the David dorm on campus. It is hosted by RAs and David Dorm residents, who decorate their halls in a manner of their choosing and hand out candy to young visitors.
"I love that for decades, this has been a way to connect the campus and the local community. A highlight for many residents is seeing professors stop by with their children," said Rebekah Freed, Concordia's director of student life.
Though Project Pumpkin is hosted by the resident assistants of David dorm, Freed says that other members of the campus community are welcome to donate candy to the event.
"Students in David Hall can support the event by decorating their halls with the RAs and any student, faculty or staff member can donate candy to the event," she said.
Concordia University, Nebraska is located at 800 N. Columbia Avenue in Seward. David Dorm is located off Columbia Avenue, on the corner of East Lincoln Street and Locust Street.
