Concordia University Nebraska launches Advancement for Christian Schools graduate certificate program and inaugural Sower Fellowship opportunity

Seward, NE (02/16/2023) — Concordia University, Nebraska today announced a new graduate certificate program for administrators, executive directors and educators designed to help participants develop expertise needed to strengthen and advance the Lutheran schools and Christian schools they serve. The Advancement for Christian Schools certificate program includes four courses focused on the needs of Christian schools and Lutheran-specific education including school mission and identity, funding initiatives and growth planning, best practices, and strategic marketing. This new program will launch in summer 2023 and is open to all Lutheran and Christian educators.

Applications are also being accepted for the inaugural Advancement for Christian Schools Sower Fellowship, which provides the same benefits of the certificate program but also features exclusive mentorship from Christian education thought-leaders and experts serving organizations and churches across the nation. The fellowship begins May 1 and is limited to 18 participants. Fellowship applications will be accepted only from administrators and educators serving in Lutheran schools.

"The future of excellent Christian education depends on devoted and skilled administrators, directors and educators," said Jeremy Geidel, Concordia Nebraska Director of Graduate/Adult Admissions and Operations. "The Advancement for Christian Schools certificate program and related Sower Fellowship opportunity offered at Concordia Nebraska equip participants with the knowledge and skills to positively impact the schools and communities in which they serve."

Concordia Nebraska offers a variety of eight-week, online graduate courses as well as many additional M.Ed. programs, certificates and endorsement including curriculum and instruction, early childhood education, special education, trauma and resilience, TESOL, educational administration, literacy and more.

The Advancement for Christian Schools graduate certificate is not a degree-earning program or endorsement, but courses may be applied toward a M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction degree, and select courses may also be applied toward an MBA. This certificate is also associated with the M.Ed. Educational Administration with Principal certification Program, with one certificate course substituting into the M.Ed. Educational Administration program.
