Saturday Art School planned for Fall 2024 semester

Seward, NE (10/03/2024) — Area elementary and middle school students are invited to attend art classes from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday mornings in the Brommer Art Center, room 123, on Concordia's campus.

The sessions, available to prekindergarten through eighth-grade students, will be taught by Concordia students enrolled in Methods of Art Education and overseen by Professor Don Robson, Concordia's art department chair.

"The Concordia students enrolled in the Methods of Art Education course compose discipline-based art education lesson plans, which address art history, aesthetics, constructive criticism and art making to teach to the students on Saturdays," Robson said. "Our hope is that these classes inspire young people to develop their talents and let their love for art grow."

There are 25 seats available per session and each student is required to pay a $5 fee for registration and supplies. Children should be dressed in clothes that can get messy.
