2016 Apr 4

Concordia University, Nebraska's Brass Ensemble will perform its spring concert on April 15, 2016, at 7 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Music Building on campus.

Performers include:

Josiah Schultz, a freshman from Bay City, Mich., playing the euphonium

The ensemble will be performing the works of John Williams, Alan Menken, Meredith Willson and Giovanni Buonamente. During the concert, small groups such as a tuba quartet, trombone quartet and a trumpet duet will perform.

The program includes songs such as "Teddy Bear Picnic" by John Bratton and "Achieved by Glorious Works" by Franz Joseph Haydn. Students Ryan Gross and Jennifer Reynolds will be featured on Antonio Vivaldi's "Concerto for Two Trumpets."

The Brass Ensemble is a small group of brass players. They perform at chapel services, festival services of the university and local churches, as well as during on- and off-campus events. A broad range of repertoire is performed, from Renaissance to the 20th century, with special emphasis on music suitable for worship services.
