Karina Keating performs in spring concert at Concordia

Concordia University, Nebraska's spring Jazzfest will take place April 29, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Hillcrest Evangelical Church in Seward, Nebraska. The Concordia Handbell Choir and Handbell Choir II will perform May 1, 2016, at 3 p.m. in the Music Center's Recital Hall on Concordia's campus.

Performers include:

Jazz music featured at the concert will include "Backrow Politics" by Gordon Goodwin, "How High the Moon," arranged by Sammy Nestico, and "St Louis Blues," arranged by Sammy Nestico, among other selections.

The handbell choirs will perform selections including "Bach's Little Fugue in G Minor" and "Abominations on Row, Row, Row Your Boat," as well as Easter and Lenten hymns, a Macedonian folk song and a lively performance of "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho."

"Ringing provides the students with a unique way to use their musical gifts and share the Gospel with others," said Director of Handbell Choirs Jessica Kite. "We enjoy the challenges of the many handbell techniques and sharing exciting music with our audiences and in worship services."
