Lauren Staehr to present works of Handel in composer's recital at Concordia University, Nebraska

2014 Feb 5

Lauren Staehr of Grand Island, Neb., will collaborate with other music students for a recital inspired by George Frideric Handel beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, in the Music Center Recital Hall at Concordia University, Nebraska. The recital is free, and the public is invited to attend.

The music department prepares a recital each spring featuring the music of a particular composer. Students offer vocal and instrumental renditions of works by the chosen artist.

"We chose Handel this year because he wrote many pieces for a variety of different instruments and voices," Assistant Professor of Music Dr. Elizabeth Grimpo said. "This allows many of our music students to participate if they desire. Additionally, Handel's music is well-known and well-loved by the public."
