Samantha Liermann inducted into Phi Epsilon Kappa's national honor society

Samantha Liermann of Wisner, Neb. and four other Concordia University, Nebraska, health and human performance students were inducted into Phi Epsilon Kappa national honor society (PEK) on October 22, 2017.

"These new inductees have demonstrated academic excellence, service to the department and Concordia community, involvement in extracurricular activities and committment to a healthy lifestyle, and we are proud to induct them into Phi Epsilon Kappa this year," said Patti Jensen assistant professor of Health and Human Performance and PEK Advisor.

Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity is a national professional fraternity for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine and sports management.

According to phiepsilonkappa.org, "PEK offers students the opportunity to connect now and throughtout their professional careers with like-minded individuals who share their passion for health and human performance. Those connections include opportunities to connect to, and partiipate in, current research in the field of health and human performance and to work with the professionals conducting it."

Emily Hayes and Samantha Liermann were also recognized as Phi Epsilon Kappa Scholars, having achieved senior status and a minimum GPA of 3.75.
