Trevor Miller serves on Guatemala medical mission trip

2015 Mar 23

Ten students from Concordia University, Nebraska spent their spring break serving in Guatemala on a medical mission trip led by Concordia's Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance Jennifer Janousek and Dr. Sarah Matthias, a pediatrician at Complete Children's Health in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Students participating in the trip include:

Trevor Miller, a senior from Lincoln, Neb.

"I enjoyed sharing my love of the culture and people of Guatemala and my public health expertise with the students," said Janousek. "I also love the opportunity to share God's love with the Guatemalan people. I think the students gained so much from the experience and grew in their own faiths while serving others in a meaningful way."

The students worked in medical clinics and helped host a health fair to educate Guatemalans and provide them with health information. The group members also shared their faith through children's ministry programs.

The students prepared for the trip in Janousek's global health undergraduate course this semester.
