Celebration at the Lied commemorates Concordia's 125 years of service

Seward, NE (01/18/2019) — Concordia University, Nebraska, in partnership with Jones Bank, will host Celebration at the Lied on March 23 at 7 p.m., to commemorate Concordia's 125 years of preparing students to serve in the church and world.

"Concordia has been extremely blessed by the support we have received throughout our 125 years of equipping students to serve to God's church and world," said Rev. Dr. Brian Friedrich, Concordia president. "We thank God for all of His many and abundant blessings and are thrilled to celebrate our rich history and all of the countless people, congregations, businesses and organizations who contributed to make Concordia the strong, Christ-centered university it is today."

The evening will feature performances of secular and sacred music by Concordia's Cantamus Women's Choir, The Male Chorus, University A Cappella Choir, Concordia Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble.

Concordia's roots date back to 1894, starting with Professor George Weller and 13 students who lived and learned in Founder's Hall. Today, Concordia's campus spans 120 acres and the university offers more than 100 undergraduate, graduate and professional programs, staying true to the original mission of preparing students through a Christ-centered, Lutheran education.
