Concordia hosts Arbor Day program celebrating 125th anniversary

Seward, NE (04/18/2019) — Concordia University, Nebraska will host an Arbor Day program at 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, in celebration of the university's 125th anniversary. The event will take place at the front steps of Weller Hall.

Fourth-graders from Seward Elementary, St. John Lutheran School, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and Our Redeemer Lutheran School will attend the event and assist with the tree planting. The program will include speeches from President Brian Friedrich, Sen. Mark Kolterman, Clark Kolterman GR '98 and Vanessa Marsh, Concordia student senate president, will assist students as they plant the honorary tree.

The Arbor Day event is sponsored by the Seward Arts Club, Seward Women's Club, Seward Tree Commission and the city of Seward.
