Concordia Nebraska announces 2025 homecoming weekend festivities
Seward, NE (09/11/2025) — Concordia University, Nebraska invites university alumni and friends to campus October 9-12 for 2025 homecoming festivities at the university.
"Concordia is looking forward to welcoming our alumni for a wonderful weekend of reunions, games and other events," said Jennifer Furr, senior director of outreach relations and engagement. "We thank God for the opportunity to have alumni and their families reconnect with one another and rediscover all their favorite Concordia memories."
Weekend festivities include a Homecoming Banquet, Athletic Hall of Fame induction, two Homecoming Tailgates and more.
Homecoming games on Saturday, October 11, include:
- Bulldog Football vs. Midland University, Bulldog Stadium at 1 p.m.
- Bulldog Volleyball vs. Waldorf University, Friedrich Arena at 2:30 p.m. (JV) and 4 p.m. (Varsity)
- Bulldog Men's Soccer vs. Waldorf University, Bulldog Stadium at 5:30 p.m.
- Bulldog Women's Soccer vs. Waldorf University, Bulldog Stadium at 8 p.m.
The weekend will also include:
- Guided walking tours of Concordia Nebraska's campus and facilities
- The Center for Liturgical Art's 20th Anniversary Celebration and Luncheon. (Listen to a recent KFUO Radio interview featuring the center here.)
- The university's annual Homecoming Banquet and Alumni Awards will take place on Saturday, October 11 in the Cattle Conference Room in Janzow Campus Center and includes a social hour, dinner, entertainment and more.
Each year the Concordia Alumni Association honors alumni and friends for their service and accomplishments. This year's Alumni Award Recipients are:
- Alumnus of the Year: Jessica (Luebbe) Pan '08
- Young Alumnus of the Year: Andrew Rathe CO '10 GR '15
- Servant Leadership Award: Gary Thies
- Lifetime Service Award: "Brommer/Janzow Jan" Jan Pogreba
- Family Heritage Award: Utecht Family
- Lifelong Learner Award: Kim (Weinhold) Marxhausen CO '81 GR '95
- Honorary Bulldog Alumni Award: Mike Meyer
The Concordia University Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes former athletes, coaches, teams and others who have made exceptional contributions to the athletic programs at Concordia and who exemplify the Christian principles to which Concordia adheres. This year's inductees - who will be honored during at a Friday, October 10 banquet event - include:
- 2015 Men's Outdoor Track and Field
- Philly Lammers '20 Women's Basketball
- Courtney Meyer '65 Lifetime Service
- Randy Pospishil '73 Football
- Sarah Kortze '14 Cross Country/Track and Field
