Concordia Nebraska Board of Regents reappoints Dr. Bernard Bull to university presidency

Seward, NE (08/13/2025) — Concordia University, Nebraska recently announced that the university's Board of Regents has reappointed Dr. Bernard Bull for a second five-year term at the university with the new title of President, Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies and Director of Academic Ventures. The Board of Regents met on July 29, 2025.

"The Board of Regents, by a unanimous vote, is delighted to extend Dr. Bull's contract for another five years, as he is widely regarded as a strong, visionary and faith-driven leader who is noted for his strategic plans and commitment to the university's mission of Christ-centered education," said Concordia Nebraska Board of Regents Chair Denny Meyer '70. "We're very excited about the future."

Bull is Concordia University, Nebraska's 11th president. He is a regularly featured presenter at national education conferences and has authored and edited several books and publications, many of which are used by Concordia Nebraska instructors. His newest book, "Faithful and Flourishing: Strategies for Leading Your Christian School With Excellence," released in July 2025.

Actively involved in researching and discussing the future of higher education, Bull's addresses and writings cover topics such as educational innovation; alternative models of education; futures in education; the history, philosophy and practice of faithful and flourishing Christian education; and the intersection of education and digital culture. Bull has a bachelor's degree in education, theology and history from Concordia University Wisconsin, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University Chicago, a master's degree in liberal studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a doctorate of education in instructional technology from Northern Illinois University.
