Concordia Nebraska hires Dr. Timothy A. Schroeder as professor of Mathematics

Seward, NE (06/13/2023) — Concordia University, Nebraska today announced that the university has hired alumnus Dr. Timothy A. Schroeder to serve as professor of mathematics. Schroeder will be teaching a variety of undergraduate mathematics classes.

"We are excited to welcome Dr. Schroeder back to the Concordia Nebraska campus," said Concordia Nebraska Assistant Professor of Computer Science Marcus Gubanyi. "Dr. Schroeder's extensive experience and qualifications make him an excellent addition to our math and computer science department. He will greatly enhance our efforts to provide Christ-centered education in math and science, with an emphasis on both practical knowledge and theoretical concepts. We look forward to serving our students with him."

Schroeder holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a master of science in mathematics from Kansas State University and a bachelor of science in education from Concordia University, Nebraska. He most recently served as professor of mathematics at Murray State University in Kentucky. He also previously taught at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Kansas State University.

Schroeder is an accomplished researcher and presenter in the field of mathematics. His research interests include topology, having published several papers in the field. He has presented at numerous conferences and events around the country. Schroeder also actively volunteers in a variety of capacities, serving in the community and the church.

"I'm very excited for the upcoming semester and the opportunity to be a part of the Concordia community in this direct way, teaching in the department of mathematics and computer science," said Schroeder. "My family has felt the prayerful support the department, college, and university have given us, and for that we are very grateful. I'm very much looking forward to the students arriving in the fall, and I am looking forward to sharing God's love for them through my teaching."
