Concordia Nebraska introduces Master of Arts in Leadership program

Seward, NE (02/24/2026) — Concordia University, Nebraska today announced the launch of a new graduate program at the university: the Master of Arts in Leadership.

This new M.A. in Leadership degree - which is pending Higher Learning Commission approval - is intentionally distinct from MBA programs and fills a different formation and vocational space in the university's graduate program offerings. While the MBA focuses on business operations, finance, accounting and corporate management, the M.A. in Leadership centers on people, purpose, culture, ethics and organizational transformation, preparing students to lead mission-driven organizations where relational leadership and faith integration are central.

"The Master of Arts in Leadership reflects Concordia's deep commitment to forming leaders who are grounded in Christ, guided by ethical conviction and equipped to transform organizations through relational, servant-hearted leadership," said Concordia Nebraska MBA and Master of Arts in Leadership Program Director Dr. George Arnold. "This program is intentionally designed to prepare men and women to lead with purpose, cultivate healthy cultures and faithfully serve their vocations in ways that make a lasting Kingdom impact."

Rooted in Concordia's Lutheran identity, the new M.A. in Leadership program integrates Christian values, servant leadership and ethical formation with applied leadership practice and real-world organizational learning. Program emphases options include classical leadership, organizational leadership, philanthropy leadership and adventure, sport and recreation leadership.
