Concordia Nebraska to debut new library special collection "Concordia Authors"

Seward, NE (04/10/2026) — Concordia University, Nebraska will launch a new library special collection called "Concordia Authors" during National Library Week, which this year is celebrated April 20-24.

"The idea of the special collection originated from university President Dr. Bernard Bull's interest in highlighting the scholarly and creative work of Concordia faculty, staff and emeriti who have written, illustrated or published books," explained Concordia Nebraska Director of Library Services Karen Centeno. "We see this as a great opportunity to engage the campus community."

Centeno collaborated with Concordia Nebraska Senior Director of Outreach, Relations and Engagement Jennifer Furr to explore the best way to showcase the book collection on campus. They developed the idea of creating a dedicated collection to display on Link Library's main floor. A call was put out to faculty, staff and emeriti asking them to submit their published works, which will continue to be collected after the collection is debuted.

Two copies will be available of each submitted title, one for display and one available for checkout, so that the collection is both visible and accessible to the university community. An online guide will also be available showcasing all books in the collection at https://cune.libguides.com/concordiaauthors.
