Concordia Nebraska to present Power of Story literacy event

Seward, NE (08/04/2025) — On September 25, Concordia University, Nebraska will present The Power of Story: Strengthening Faith Through Literacy. This invitation-only event will feature special guests Peggy Kuethe and Lisa Clark from Concordia Publishing House and will include Kindergarten through fifth grade students, faculty and staff from select Seward-area Christian schools.

"Through interactive read-alouds, hands-on activities and engaging storytelling, children will discover how books and Bible stories can bring them closer to Jesus," said Concordia Nebraska Director of University Institutes Deb Jurchen. "This literacy event will be an enriching experience that educates and inspires while also reflecting the Christ-focused values and beliefs that are the heart of everything we do at the university."

The Power of Story: Strengthening Faith Through Literacy is presented by the Concordia University, Nebraska Institute for Literacy. The Institute for Literacy resources the church by exploring the intersection of Christian faith and life through the written word, fostering a lifelong joy of learning through reading.
