Concordia Nebraska to welcome two guest speakers as part of Spring 2024 public lecture series
Seward, NE (01/17/2024) — Concordia University, Nebraska today announced that the university will welcome two renowned speakers to campus early this year for two public lecture events.
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, Dr. Patricia Jackson will present "The time is always right to do what is right" at a Martin Luther King, Jr.-focused event. Jackson is principal and English teacher at St. Paul Lutheran School in Chicago. Her presentation will take place in the university's Thom auditorium at 7 p.m. The presentation is free and open to the public.
On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Rev. Carl Beckwith will speak on the importance of history - especially church history - and its necessity for faithful lives of service in the world today. Beckwith serves as professor of historical theology at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His presentation will take place in the university's Thom auditorium at 7 p.m. The presentation is free and open to the public.
The presentations are part of the Looking Beyond Speaker Series made possible in part through an ongoing gift from Martin and Regina Maehr. The series was created to expose Concordia Nebraska students and the Seward community to diverse speakers and ideas.
