Concordia's Chamber Choir to embark on spring 2025 tour

Seward, NE (01/22/2025) — On February 20, the University Chamber Choir from Concordia University, Nebraska will embark on a weekend tour to Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas. The choir is directed by Professor of Music Dr. Kurt von Kampen, conductor of the acclaimed University A Cappella Choir. Professor of Music and pianist Dr. Elizabeth Grimpowill also perform with the choir.

The University Chamber Choir was formed in the fall of 1998 and has gained a reputation for excellence in the singing of chamber vocal music. The 14-voice choir has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., including concert tours to New York, Maryland, Delaware, California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida and throughout the Midwest.

The select choir, chosen from the 72-voice University A Cappella Choir, sings a diverse repertoire of sacred and secular choral music from many historical periods. Significant chamber works performed by the choir include Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors, Randall Thompson's The Peaceable Kingdom, and Gabriel Faure's Requiem. On this tour, the choir will be singing the works of G.F. Handel, Henry Purcell, Rene Clausen, William Hawley, Ola Gjeilo, John Rutter and more.
