Concordia University, Nebraska launches new data science program

Seward, NE (09/04/2024) — Concordia University, Nebraska today announced the launch of a new university undergraduate degree, the bachelor of science in data science. This innovative program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in today's data-driven world.

With the exponential growth of data across various industries, there is an increasing demand for professionals who can analyze, interpret and derive insights from complex datasets. Concordia University, Nebraska recognizes this demand and is committed to preparing students for successful careers in data science.

The data science major will be available to incoming students starting in the fall semester of 2024 and will provide students with a comprehensive foundation in programming languages, data manipulation and analysis techniques. Students will study domain-specific knowledge in areas such as business, finance, healthcare and computer science to be able to apply data science techniques effectively in real-world contexts and gain practical experience through hands-on projects and internships with industry partners.

Concordia Nebraska's data science program will be housed in the state-of-the-art Dunklau Center for Science, Math and Business, which features experiential and collaborative learning spaces, including two computer labs dedicated to computer and data science.
