by Amy Crawford

Seward, NE (02/05/2025) — Concordia University, Nebraska today announced the launch of its new Master of Science in Athletic Coaching (M.S.A.C.) program, designed to equip coaches with advanced leadership, strategy and sports psychology knowledge to enhance athletic performance and team success.

This fully online program offers a flexible and comprehensive curriculum tailored for coaches at all levels-whether they are current professionals looking to refine their expertise or aspiring coaches seeking to advance their careers. The M.S.A.C. program integrates faith-based principles with cutting-edge coaching methodologies, providing students with the skills to lead with integrity, develop athletes holistically and foster a culture of excellence.

"The master's in athletic coaching program at Concordia distinguishes itself in two specific ways," says Dr. Doug Kuhlmann, program director. "Incorporating Christian values and principles into coaching practice and hands-on experiential learning opportunities, such as possible internships for our students, practicums and coaching clinics. The aim is to provide students with opportunities to engage with diverse communities and make a positive impact through coaching."

The program provides not only advanced coaching strategies but also access to respected external certifications, such as those offered by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and InSideOut, ensuring graduates are uniquely positioned to excel in a competitive coaching landscape.

With courses designed to fit the busy schedules of working professionals, the M.S.A.C. program allows students to complete their degree while continuing their coaching careers. Enrollment for the first cohort is now open, with classes set to begin in summer of 2025.
