Concordia University to host 7th annual Leadership & Ethics Symposium

Seward, NE (09/23/2025) — On Tuesday, October 7, Concordia University, Nebraska will host their seventh annual Leadership & Ethics Symposium.

The Symposium is hosted by Concordia's Institute for Ethical Leadership as a strategic initiative between Concordia University and the College of Business and Technology. The event focuses on outreach to students, alumni and the community emphasizing the importance of living out their Christian faith both in the marketplace and in society.

Dr. Curt Beck, Concordia Professor of Business said, "The Leadership & Ethics Symposium is an opportunity for the Concordia Community to hear from business leaders that live out their faith at work. The goal of this event is to present examples of Christians intentionally living out their faith in the workplace."

The CEO of the Anderson Auto Group, Mike Anderson, will be attending the event as the keynote speaker. Anderson is a Christian business owner.

Beck said, "Mike Anderson lives out his faith at work. Mike has made several changes to how he runs the business based on his desire to honor God with his company."

Anderson is a second-generation auto dealer with eight new vehicle dealerships in Nebraska and Missouri, one Powersport dealership and a finance company. They have been in business since 1986 and employ over 500 employees. Anderson Auto Group has received the BBB Integrity Award, Ford's President Award and the Time Dealer of the Year Award.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. on October 7 in the Pohlman Family Lecture Hall in the Dunklau Center for Science, Math, and Business on Concordia's campus.

The Institute for Ethical Leadership is one of several institutes at Concordia Nebraska. As a mission-focused institution, Concordia University, Nebraska serves the church and communities through multiple programs and institutes. Each institute operates independently. However, Concordia's institutes must align with the overall mission of the university, serve an audience beyond campus, engage Concordia students in some part of its work and maintain a model for independent financial viability.
