Concordia Unviersity, Nebraska seeks help with November Food Shelf Challenge

Seward, NE (10/27/2023) — On Friday, November 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Concordia University, Nebraska students will be working in the Seward community to collect non-perishable food donations as part of the November Food Shelf Challenge service project. This service project is one of many happening as part of the Beautiful Feet Mission Conference, which will take place at the university that weekend.

The Beautiful Feet Mission Conference brings together guest speakers and mission organizations to equip students through session topics, small group conversations, mission organization exploration, service projects and worship, all with the purpose of sharing the love of Jesus with others. This year's event features keynote speaker Rev. Greg Finke, a graduate of Concordia University, Chicago and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He is the founder and Executive Director of Dwelling 1:14 and author of the "Joining Jesus" series.

"If you live in Seward and would like to contribute food items, please place donations in a tied plastic bag and leave them by your front door on November 10," said Concordia Nebraska Director of Global Opportunities Julie Hermann. "Items collected will be distributed to the St. John's Lutheran Church Christ's Cupboard food pantry and to Concordia Nebraska's Help Your Shelf, an area where students can access food items and personal care items free of charge. This is a wonderful opportunity our students to facilitate the collection of much-needed items to benefit those with food insecurity in our community."
