IMPROVathon brings 24 hours of laughs to Concordia University, Nebraska

Seward, Neb. (01/26/2018) — The Concordia IMPROVables, an improvisational theatre group, brings 24 hours of laughs to campus from Friday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. to Saturday Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Janzow Campus Center.

During the first two hours of the event, Concordia professor Chuck Blanco and alumnus Brandon Luetchens, 17 will judge the performers in a friendly competition. After that, the laughs are just for fun.

"There is something amazing, almost magical, when so many people come together to make art," said Ben Leeper, a senior from Thornton, Colorado. "IMPROVathon demonstrates just how dedicated each and every person is to the craft. The group agrees to do improv nonstop for 24 hours. I love doing with such great talent and such great friends."

Follow the 24-hour event, the IMPROVables spring schedule includes two traditional performances on March 27 at Olde Glory Theatre in Seward and April 28 at the Studio Theatre on campus.

"Aside from its many applicable skills to daily and professional life, the troupe, is like family," said Michael Duffy, a senior from Kenesaw. "I've acquired new brothers and sisters, and also getting to perform with those I love is a swell combination."
