Reformation Celebration Worship Service at Concordia University, Nebraska, Walz Arena
Seward, NE (10/12/2017) — Concordia University, Nebraska, will celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation with a worship service and dinner at 3:30 p.m., Oct 29, 2017 in Walz Arena on campus.
Rev. Dr. Timothy Saleska, professor of Hebrew and Old Testament exegeticals at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, will provide the sermon for this event. Besides teaching, Dr. Saleska acts as the Dean of Ministerial Formation at the Seminary and the men's varsity basketball coach. Dr. Saleska's is especially versed in biblical poetry and the book of Psalms. He also is interested in how Christians interpret and meditate on Psalms. Dr, Saleska has published a bible study on Psalms, which is available through Concordia Publishing House, and is currently working on a Psalmists commentary.
The worship service is free and open to the public. At 5 p.m. following the worship service, there will be a German Fest dinner with entertainment. Limited tickets are still available for the dinner at http://www.cune.edu/events/alumni-friends/german-fest-dinner-entertainment/
