- Restful Teaching Principles for the Christian Educator: Designed for Christian educators, parents and church workers but open to anyone, this course discusses how to recover a more restful, humane and biblical way of teaching through seven specific principles that have shaped teaching from antiquity through the Christian tradition and have nurtured restfulness.
- Mission and Legacy of Faithful Lutheran Education: Designed for new teachers in Lutheran schools, but open to all, this provides learners with a solid foundation of the multi-century and global legacy of Lutheran schools. Participants will learn what is distinct about Lutheran schools, and what it means to be an engaged teacher or leader in a Lutheran school. This can be completed as a stand-alone course or as part of a four-course Foundations of Lutheran Education Certificate.
- Theology of the Body: This course explores how the Christian theology of the body illuminates sport as a powerful arena for understanding the body as God's gift, cultivating virtue through discipline and suffering, resisting idolatry, fostering community, honoring male and female embodiment and ultimately pointing us toward resurrection hope.
- Choosing and Using Children's Literature with Discernment: Designed for Lutheran educators, homeschool educators, literacy specialists and administrators who teach or support reading/English Language Arts instruction in grades 3-8 but open to anyone, this course is especially beneficial for teachers seeking practical strategies for selecting literature, guiding meaningful classroom discussion and helping students engage thoughtfully with novels and other literary texts through a Biblical lens.
- Retaining Our Educators - A Place Where Teachers Want to Stay: In this course, participants will examine the components of an educator retention plan and will analyze their own school's current retention efforts and will review recent research about what helps educators love their schools and want to remain employed at them.
- Faith Formation and Play: Designed for Christian educators, DCEs, camp leaders, game designers and Christian creatives but open to anyone, this course allows participants to discover how play cultivates discipleship and community.
- School Advancement: Identity, Mission and Growth: This course equips educational leaders to strengthen and advance their schools by developing a clear, compelling identity rooted in mission and identity. With particular attention to Lutheran identity, participants will explore how adherence to your why shapes school culture, informs vision and guides strategic decision-making.
Each CEU course is delivered in six one-hour sessions and is $150. Exclusive pricing is available for program participants who are members of preferred partner organizations.
