Rev. Mark Rosenau to speak about prison ministry at Concordia University, Nebraska

Seward, NE (02/01/2019) — Rev. Mark Rosenau will be presenting "Prison Ministry: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," as part of the Looking Beyond Speaker Series at the Concordia University, Nebraska campus Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Thom Leadership Education Center Auditorium. This presentation is free and open to the public.

Rosenau's presentation will explore prison ministry and capital punishment, a topic he knows well from his 10 years of service as chaplain at the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln. His heart was shaped uniquely through ministry in prison as God matured him to faithfully fulfill pastoral duties and in understanding people. Rosenau went on to serve as the senior pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church in Lincoln and as senior pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Owatonna, Minnesota. After retiring from fulltime ministry, Mark and his wife Sue moved back to Lincoln in December 2018 to be near their three children and five grandchildren.

The presentation is part of the Looking Beyond Speaker Series made possible in part through an ongoing gift from Martin and Regina Maehr. The series was created to present diverse speakers and ideas to Concordia students and the Seward community.

Rosenau will also speak in chapel on Feb. 12 and meet with students throughout the day.
