Tim Goeglein to speak at Concordia University, Nebraska

Seward, NE (09/07/2018) — Concordia University, Nebraska welcomes Tim Goeglein to speak on campus in his presentation "Faith in the Halls of Power" at 7 p.m., Sept. 17 in Thom Leadership and Education Center auditorium.

Goeglein acted as Special Assistant to U.S. President George W. Bush Sr. and was the Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Liaison for seven years. He was also the first Deputy Press Secretary. His political memoir "The Man in the Middle: Faith and Politics in the George W. Bush Era" was published in 2011. He is currently working as the Vice President of External Relations for Focus on the Family. He still lives and works in Washington D.C.

Goeglein is a graduate of Indiana Univerisity's Ernie Pyle School of Journalism. He holds honorary doctorate degrees from Concordia College New York, and Faith Evangelical College and Seminary in Tacoma, Washington. He serves on several boards, including the Coalitions for America Board, the National Civic Art Society, the Young America's Foundation and the Institute for American Universities Advisory Board. In addition to all of that, Goeglein has been a deacon at his church for the past 25 years.

Goeglein's presentation is titled "Faith in the Halls of Power: Major Issues Facing American Christians in 21st Century America." It will touch on his experience in both the political and religious spheres and how to welcome God's role in the public square.

Following the lecture, there will be time to ask questions as well as meet the presenter. The presentation is free and open to the public.
