Concordia University, Nebraska names new director of MBA program

Seward, NE (06/25/2025) — SEWARD, NEBRASKA- June 25, 2025 - Concordia University, Nebraska today announced that the university has named Dr. George Arnold of Phoenix, Arizona, as director of the university's MBA program. Arnold succeeds Dr. Erica Lamm-Denny, who has served the university since 2013. Arnold has served as an instructor in the university's MBA program for the past four years.

"I'm delighted to welcome Dr. George Arnold as our new director of the graduate MBA program," said Concordia Nebraska Associate Provost, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Acting Dean of the School of Business Dr. Lisa Ashby. "His experience and vision will be a tremendous asset to our community, and I look forward to the leadership he will bring as we continue to integrate academic excellence with our distinctively Lutheran, Christian mission."

Arnold has a doctorate in business administration from the University of Phoenix, a master's degree in computer resource management from Webster University, a master's degree in management from Webster University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University. His vast experience of more than 55 years includes serving as an operations officer and captain in the United States Air Force, in various information, recruitment and staffing positions and as an academic dean and faculty member as several different colleges and universities. Most recently, he served as adjunct business and project management faculty for several online universities including Concordia Nebraska.

Arnold and his wife Susan have seven children, 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. They are very involved at their church, Christ Church of the Valley in Queen Creek, Arizona, and they also participate in neighborhood Bible study groups. Arnold also enjoys playing acoustic guitar.

"I value the opportunity to invest in students' lives both professionally and personally. I love watching students grow into confident leaders, many of whom come to us with big dreams but aren't sure yet how to get there," said Arnold. "Guiding them through that journey, helping them connect faith with business, and watching them discover their purpose in leadership is incredibly fulfilling. There's something special about being part of a university that not only values academic excellence but also genuinely cares about spiritual growth and ethical decision-making. It's a privilege to walk alongside our students as both a mentor and a teacher."

Concordia Nebraska's all-online MBA program allows participants to customize the degree to fit individual career goals. Alongside the graduate program's ten core business courses, students also complete a choice of two elective courses in a preferred area of interest.

"Concordia University, Nebraska's MBA program is a Christ-centered, flexible and career-focused graduate program designed for working professionals who want to lead with both purpose and skill," said Arnold. "Whether you're looking to grow in your current role or pivot to something new, our program combines academic rigor with real-world application, all in a supportive, values-driven community. With flexible online options, small class sizes and faculty who truly care, Concordia Nebraska prepares students to lead ethically, think strategically and make a difference."
