Concordia University, Nebraska's Concordia Catalyst Competition (C3) is a multi-part event that spans months. Mentor Night occurs prior to the fall Pitch Competition and the spring Business Plan Competition. C3 was created to provide practical experience for those formulating and executing business plan ideas and is open to high school students, community members, current Concordia Nebraska students and alumni of the university. Concordia's programming team recently competed in the International Collegiate Programming Contest regional competition. Two teams from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln joined six from Concordia to compete on November 9. These teams were in competition against over 90 other teams in the North Central North America region. ICPC teams consist of three members each, who work to solve problems in an intense five-hour competition. The team who solves the most problems wins, with time-to-completion breaking ties. Teams compete in ICPC qualifying and regional contests, with the top teams advancing to continental championships and world finals. This year's North Central North America competition posed 12 problems to 93 college teams from Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ontario, Manitoba, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas and Michigan. The top four teams - each from a different school - in each region progress to the ICPC Nationals competition.

Concordia University, Nebraska hosted the first Nebraska Tech Builders Challenge November 1-2, 2024. The event was open to high school and college students and included both seasoned coders as well as those curious about how technology can solve real-world problems. The event was presented in partnership with the Seward Chamber of Commerce, the Seward County Visitors Bureau, Allo and the Center for Rural Innovation. The event featured a variety of workshops focused around building a product and marketing that product including a Softr Workshop demonstrating how to build an engaging product with zero coding knowledge, a Ideation & Team Creation Workshop focused on how to brainstorm effectively and find partners for your idea, a Storytelling and Pitching Workshop discussing how best to market a product to investors and potential customers and a Design Mockups Workshop detailing how to design an effective product from simple logo mockups to a full design system.

On Saturday, April 1, twelve Concordia Nebraska business students traveled to and competed in the Collegiate Leadership Competition (CLC) US Invitational Scrimmage at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia.

On Saturday, February 26, six Concordia University Nebraska students competed against schools across the Midwest region in the International Collegiate Programming Competition.

Concordia University, Nebraska's speech team is off to a strong start, with numerous students earning first-place finishes in the team's first two tournaments and one student already qualifying for the national tournament. The team participated in the Jackrabbit Joust at South Dakota State University Oct. 12-13, after it hosted the Bulldog Swing Speech Tournament Oct. 5-6.

Concordia student newspaper, The Sower, won 12 awards at the 2019 Northern Plains Collegiate Media Association (NPCMA) Spring Conference and Golden Leaf Awards Luncheon April 13.

For the second year in a row, the Concordia speech team qualified 10 students for the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET), which was set to take place April 4-6 in Santa Ana, California.

A team from Concordia University, Nebraska competed in the third annual Lutheran Church Extension Fund National Student Marketing Competition April 4 in St. Louis, Mo. This was the university's first time entering the competition.

Concordia University, Nebraska's computer science department sent two teams to the ACM North America North Central Regional Programming Contest, held Nov. 3 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Contest sites were spread across the region for contestants to participate. The teams, made up of three members each, competed in the day-long event against hundreds of other teams across the region, writing computer programs to solve nine different problems within a five-hour time period. The Association for Computing Machinery hosts the contest each year from locations around the North Central region, made up of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Western Ontario, Manitoba, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and part of Michigan. The top teams in regional competition advance to the world finals, to be held in St. Petersburg, Russia, June 30-July 4, 2012. All contests this year are sponsored by IBM. Concordia team members included:
