Academic Excellence and Innovation Fund awards grant for "Low Brass Day"
Seward, NE (03/25/2025) — The Academic Excellence and Innovation Fund recently awarded Concordia Assistant Professor of MusicRobert Cody a grant for $5,500 to host a low-brass specific outreach day for high school students. The event will bring together students from around the country to enrich themselves in the music of low brass instruments.
According to Cody, the grant will enable the music department to reach out to students in new ways.
"We are overjoyed to have received this grant!" Cody said. "The funds will enable us to host a Low Brass Day, the first of what we hope to be many instrument-specific enrichment days where we will invite high school students from around the country to join our students on campus for a day of master classes and performances with guest artists! We are so thankful for the donors and the vision of Concordia's administration to make grants of this nature available to the university!"
The event will take place on Friday, April 11.
