by Amy Crawford

Seward, NE (01/14/2025) — Concordia University, Nebraska today announced that the university has partnered with Nebraska Wesleyan University to guarantee Concordia Nebraska students who meet specified criteria admittance to the Nebraska Wesleyan University Master of Athletic Training program. Nebraska Wesleyan will guarantee two seats each year to Concordia Nebraska students.

"Athletic training is one of the top five career choices of Concordia University, Nebraska students pursuing a major in exercise science," said Concordia Nebraska Health and Human Performance Chair and Associate Professor Dr. Nolan Harms. "From top clinical rotations to exceptional applied learning opportunities, this partnership will serve our students well in 2025 and beyond."

To qualify for guaranteed admission, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and hold a bachelor's degree from Concordia Nebraska. Students must also satisfactorily complete pre-requisite courses by the time of enrollment, submit a resume documenting volunteer work, internships and work experience, complete 50 hours of documented observation under a certified athletic trainer, complete the Athletic Training Certificate Application System application and include two letters of reference.

"Nebraska Wesleyan is holding two spots in each cohort of their Masters in Athletic Training for Concordia Nebraska graduates that meet the criteria," added Concordia Nebraska Provost Dr. Tim Preuss. "The fact that Nebraska Wesleyan is willing to guarantee admission to two Concordia graduates annually in a competitive allied health professional school is a testament to the quality of our graduates in the science and health and human performance departments and speaks to the excellent training they receive from their faculty in these areas as well."
