The Department of Natural Sciences at Concordia University, Nebraska recognized exceptional work and contribution to the science department at its 14th annual awards banquet. Graduating seniors were also honored at the banquet.

Students from Concordia University, Nebraska took what they have learned in their creative drama class and shared it with the community through a variety of workshops throughout the Seward, Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, areas.

Two health and human performance students were inducted into Concordia University, Nebraska's chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa, a national honor society, on April 19. The inductions also included the recognition of PEK scholars.

Concordia University, Nebraska recently inducted four students into the Iota Nu chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda. The students were inducted into the national music honor society at the university's spring honor recital.

Three Concordia University, Nebraska students won Student Project Showcase awards at the Nebraska GIS/LIS Symposium, which was hosted by the Nebraska GIS/LIS Association and was held April 14-16 in La Vista, Nebraska. Fourteen Concordia students participated in the symposium.

Sixty-six students presented a record number of 58 academic projects from a variety of disciplines at Concordia University, Nebraska's Fifth Annual Academic and Research Symposium on April 13.

The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band's Offutt Brass, a pioneering brass quintet, will perform a community concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska. Students from the Concordia Brass Ensemble will join the Offutt Brass for a musical selection during the concert.

Four musical ensembles from Concordia University, Nebraska will perform two combined concerts in April. The Chamber Choir and Chamber Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, in the Recital Hall of Concordia's Music Center. The Male Chorus and Women's Chorale will perform at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, Nebraska.

Eight senior artists will display work in the Bachelor of Fine Art Senior Thesis exhibition at Concordia University, Nebraska.

The Concordia Brass Ensemble and Concordia Concert Band will perform a joint concert in Seward.

The Concordia University, Nebraska forensics team earned the title of national champions in Reader's Theater and earned a second place Individual Events Sweepstakes overall for Division III schools in the 18th annual Christian College Nationals at Colorado Christian University March 20-22.

The best of Concordia University, Nebraska students' artwork, as judged by Concordia's full-time art faculty, will be on display at Marxhausen Gallery from March 29 through April 17.

Concordia University, Nebraska's University A Cappella Choir will travel to Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri for its annual tour April 8-12. The choir will conclude the tour with two local-area concerts on Sunday, April 19, at 3 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Lincoln and at 7 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.

Concordia University, Nebraska students will present "Cinderella with the Commedia Players" by Lane Riosley.

The semiannual honor recital at Concordia University, Nebraska will showcase the vocal and instrumental talents of nine student musicians. The recital will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, in the Music Center Recital Hall.

The Concordia University, Nebraska forensics team earned seven top-six finishes during the past two weekends at in-state forensics tournaments: the Hastings Bronco Bash tournament and the Battle for the Capital, hosted by the University of Nebraska Omaha as a swing tournament with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The University Symphonic Band from Concordia University, Nebraska will perform at churches and schools throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas during its annual tour.

Students will present a play adaptation of Lois Lowry's science fiction novel "The Giver" on Friday, Feb. 27, and Saturday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Studio Theatre in the lower level of the Music Building.

Concordia University, Nebraska students will perform around 20 Broadway songs in the student-run production of "A Night on Broadway" at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, in Weller Auditorium.

Students from Concordia University, Nebraska will perform a play adaptation of Jack London's book "The Call of the Wild" for the Seward Middle School at 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 11. The public is invited to attend the two other showings of the play at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Seward Memorial Library and at 7 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Thom Leadership Education Center auditorium at Concordia.

Concordia University, Nebraska will host the Nebraska Intercollegiate Forensics Association state tournament on Saturday, Feb. 14.

Five Concordia University, Nebraska students traveled to Washington, D.C., Jan. 22-25 to participate in the annual March for Life, the largest pro-life event in the world.
