The Concordia University, Nebraska University Symphonic Band will perform for the students, faculty and staff at its four Lutheran high school partner schools in Nebraska, as well as for the community in Seward, Nebraska, in mid-February. The concert at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska, is free and open to the public on Feb. 21, 2016, at 3 p.m.

Concordia University, Nebraska recently hosted two annual forensics tournaments for both college and high school speakers. The Sleet and Snow Swing Invitational Jan.16-17, 2016, brought in dozens of speakers from 10 colleges representing five states. The CUNE High School Speech Classic on Jan. 23, 2016, brought nearly 200 high school speakers from 17 high schools to Concordia.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees were awarded to 102 students in December 2015 at Concordia University, Nebraska in Seward.

Dr. Daniel Thurber, professor of English at Concordia University, Nebraska, hosted his 22nd study tour of Europe for students from Dec. 26, 2015, to Jan. 9, 2016. This year's trip includes travels to Dublin, Ireland, London, England, and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Three teams of computer programming students from Concordia University, Nebraska competed in the annual Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) North Central North America Regional Programming Contest Oct. 31, 2015. Concordia's team called FFoD placed 39th out of the 223 teams at the event.

Three students from Concordia University, Nebraska received College Student of the Year awards at the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE Nebraska) awards luncheon in Kearney, Nebraska, on Nov. 3, 2015.

Concordia will hold its Fall Honor Recital Nov. 11, 2015, at 7 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Music Center on campus.

Concordia University, Nebraska will be presenting "Lost in Yonkers," a dynamic play about family matters, on Nov. 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. in Weller Auditorium on campus.

Five Concordia University students traveled to Belize in Central America Oct. 10-17, 2015, on a health mission trip in partnership with the Belize Mission Society and Concordia University Texas. The trip was led by Concordia Nebraska's Director of the RN to BSN Program Heidi Gubanyi.

Concordia University, Nebraska's Chamber Recital is scheduled for Nov. 5, 2015, at 7 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Music Center on campus. It will feature voice duets, piano, cello and trumpet performances, as well as a brass ensemble performance.

Concordia sophomore Meredith Locke and senior Lauren Staehr were awarded first place in three separate categories during the National Association of Teachers of Singing music competition Oct. 2, 2015, at the University of Nebraska Omaha campus.

Concordia University, Nebraska has named 30 students to receive the President's Scholarship, the highest financial honor available for the 2015-2016 school year. The scholarship acknowledges freshmen with excellent academic performance, combined with extracurricular involvement and high test score achievements.

The school is located in Shenzhen, China, and is the first school in mainland China sponsored by the The Lutheran Church--Hong Kong Synod.

A group of 20 Concordia University, Nebraska students, alumni and friends embarked on a tour of the Holy Land from June 11-25, 2015. The tour, led by Dr. Mark Meehl, professor of theology, included visits to Galilee, Bethlehem, Jerusalem and other Biblical sites in the surrounding areas.

Students from Concordia University, Nebraska joined St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska, from June 19-29, 2015, on the church's sixth annual mission trip to Akiachak, Alaska, a remote Yupik village along the Kuskokwim River.

Concordia University, Nebraska Professor of English Lisa Ashby and Associate Professor of Communication and Theatre Bryan Moore led 10 Concordia students on the university's first New England study tour that focused on both theatre and literary sites on the East Coast.

The Omega Lambda chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, a theatre national honor society, inducted new members this spring at Concordia University, Nebraska. The society recognizes student involvement in theatre arts programs.

Concordia University, Nebraska announced its May 2015 graduates who graduated with distinction or high distinction honors based on their academic achievements at Concordia Nebraska.

Concordia University, Nebraska awarded degrees to 316 graduates in May 2015. Graduates receiving a degree in December 2014, May 2015 or August 2015 were invited to participate in the university's 108th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9, 2015.
