The Concordia Handbell Choir and Handbell Choir II will perform at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 in the Music Center's Recital Hall on Concordia's campus. Additionally, the Handbell Choir will be participating in the Nebraska State Capitol's Tree Lighting at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9.

Concordia senior Austin Theriot recently received the 2018 Richard Hillert Award in Student Composition for his piece "Psalm 8."

The Omega Lambda chapter of Alpha Psi Omega (APO), a theatre national honor society, inducted 10 new members this spring at Concordia University, Nebraska. The society recognizes student involvement in theatre arts programs. Students accumulate points through their participation in theatre activities at Concordia. Upon reaching the required point level, they are invited to become a member of APO through a required induction ceremony. This year's ceremony was held on Saturday evening, April 28, in the Studio Theatre on Concordia's campus. "The ceremony allows us a chance to honor and celebrate the talents of students who have participated in multiple productions and areas of theatre," said Bryan Moore, associate professor of communication and theatre. "They are only a fraction of the entire group of students who dedicate their time and talents to our theatre program, and we are grateful for all who participate and attend our events. APO plans to host campus and off-campus activities next year with our student theatre interest group Curtain Club."

Fourty-three students traveled abroad this summer to teach, study, or serve the global community. Students were building relationships with people in Alaska, Bali, Bhutan, China, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Haiti, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Poland and Sierra Leone.

Concordia University, Nebraska named 248 students to its honors list for the spring 2018 semester. The top 25 percent of all undergraduate students who complete at least 12 credit hours qualify for the honors list.

Concordia University, Nebraska, announced its May 2018 undergraduates who graduated with distinction or high distinction honors based on their academic achievements at Concordia Nebraska. Nearly 10 percent of the undergraduate class have graduated with high distinction, and an additional five percent of the class have graduated with distinction. A student must also have completed at least 64 credit hours at Concordia Nebraska to be eligible for graduation honors.
